Charcot / Diabetic Foot Reconstruction & Fusion

What it involves

Realignment and fusion to give a stable, shoeable foot and lower the risk of ulcers.

In Charcot foot the bones weaken and collapse. Once the foot has settled and infection is controlled, surgery realigns and fuses joints so weight is shared safely. It is planned together with diabetes care.

When it is considered

For unstable, deformed or ulcerated Charcot feet that cannot be managed in a brace or cast.

This page is general information. The right option depends on your examination and scans, so please book a consultation for advice on your own case.
